How much does furnace repair cost in the Twin Cities?
Most furnace repairs land between $300 and $500 with parts and labor. The diagnostic visit is $80 during regular hours and $150 for emergency calls, and that fee goes toward the repair if you move forward. You get the full price before any work starts.
My furnace is blowing cold air. What is usually wrong?
The usual causes are a dirty flame sensor, a failed hot surface igniter, a clogged filter, or a thermostat problem. A flame sensor cleaning is $180 and an igniter replacement is $300, so most cold-air calls are fixed the same visit for a few hundred dollars.
Can you fix my furnace the same day?
Usually, yes. The common parts (igniters, flame sensors, capacitors) ride on the truck, so most repairs are finished on the first visit. If a part has to be ordered, you get the timeline and the price before we leave.
Should I repair or replace my furnace?
If the furnace is over 15 years old and the repair is approaching half the cost of a new one, replacement is usually the better use of your money. If it is younger and the fix is a few hundred dollars, repair it. We tell you which one it is and why, and the diagnostic fee applies either way.
I smell gas near the furnace. What should I do?
Leave the house first, then call your gas utility from outside. Once the utility has cleared the home, call us at (612) 688-5332 and we will find the source and fix it.
